Head of Advancement (Fundraising & Donor Engagement)

Moore Theological College

Newtown, Sydney, NSW

Hybrid - Full Time Position

Moore Theological College is seeking a gifted, relational and strategic Christian leader to join the College as Head of Advancement, a newly created, senior leadership role with the opportunity to build something significant from the ground up.

About Moore Theological College

Moore Theological College is an evangelical theological college based in Newtown, Sydney, and one of Australia’s first University Colleges. Established in 1856, Moore exists to see God glorified by men and women living for and proclaiming Jesus Christ. Through excellent theological education grounded in Scripture, Moore equips students for a lifetime of faithful gospel ministry in Australia and across the world.

The Vision

As Moore looks to the future, it is establishing a new Advancement department to strengthen gospel partnerships, deepen generosity, and ensure long-term sustainability. This lead role will shape the College’s philanthropic strategy and lead the development of fundraising, donor engagement and endowment growth.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership, the Head of Advancement will lead major gifts, bequests, church partnerships and annual giving, with a particular focus on growing the Moore College Endowment Fund. This is a rare opportunity to create a new function, set strategy, and lead the way forward in cultivating joyful generosity for gospel impact.

About You

You will be a theologically aligned Christian with proven experience in relationship-based fundraising, major donor engagement or advancement leadership, ideally within a Christian, not-for-profit or higher education context. You will bring strong relational skills, strategic thinking, excellent communication ability, and a heart for partnering with God’s people to support gospel ministry.

This role will suit someone energised by building new initiatives, leading with integrity, and stewarding relationships with donors, churches and supporters in a way that reflects Moore’s mission and values.
